DAYS
Last chance! 2017 is our final Inferno

The Inferno events aren't your grandparent's obstacle courses, so throw everything you think you know out the window.  It's comprised of 20+ physically and mentally challenging obstacles stretched out over a grueling 13.1 miles that will push anybody to their limits. Unlike every other obstacle course, The Inferno will not have any mud slides, mud pools, or any “all mud” obstacles. Why? Because crawling through a pit of mud is stupid and to be perfectly honest, not all that difficult! However, there will be walls to climb over, hills to traverse, monkey bars and rings to cross, cargo nets and ropes to climb, sandbags to carry, tires to flip, long distances to run, and of course, you can't forget swimming, not wading, which no other course seems to actually incorporate! Basically, if it's mentally and physically challenging, rest assured, The Inferno will have it!

The Inferno was founded by Jason Wilde, an avid adventure racer having competed in many different competitors races. Jason created The Inferno so he could create an obstacle course that would push people farther than they ever thought possible! He may not be Ex-special Ops, but he has an evil imagination that definitely translates to The Inferno obstacles. You've been warned!

Yes and no, it's up to you! You can go as fast or slow as you want or need! However, The Inferno does utilize timing chips to keep track of all race results. Don't forget if you are the competitive type, and be honest, we all are; register for the competitive heat to ensure you are pitted against all The Inferno badasses!

It's up to you! Most participants run as a team because The Inferno is HARD! It will push you to your limits and unless you are Superman you are going to need either mental or physical support at some point! Plus, having a witness to all your “badass-ness” will make for a much more believable story!

Yes. When you arrive on event day, you must sign a waiver in which you acknowledge (among other things) that by participating in The Inferno you expose yourself to certain risks, including the risk of personal injury. For legal reasons, we suggest that you read and understand the waiver before you sign it on event day. A sample waiver is available here.

For insurance and legal reasons, ALL participants in the United States must be 18 years old on the day of the Event. Because of insurance and legal issues, we cannot make any exceptions, nor can a parental waiver be signed.

Yes. If you are participating in the US, you MUST be at least 18 years old on event day to participate in The Inferno for legal and insurance reasons. We cannot make any exceptions to this policy, nor will parental consent suffice. As for an age limit, we've come to realize that badasses come in all shapes, sizes, and ages; and there is no stopping a true badass, even if he/she is 80 years old!

The Inferno events are designed to test all round fitness and push you to your limits both physically and mentally. Long story short, you will NOT be able to roll off the couch and complete The Inferno. So do yourself a favor, Get Off Your Lazy Ass and train beforehand!

Yes, all participants are allowed in the same areas as spectators.

Spectators are free. You can pre-sign the waiver via our Registration Center .

Yes, all participants are allowed in the same areas as spectators and you do not need to buy a spectator ticket if you are registered for that event day.

The Inferno attempts to configure the course for easy access that allows spectators to keep up with their friends and family members by providing shortcuts to obstacles. If you wanted to run the entire course you would have signed up as a participant! As a spectator, you will be able to see many of the obstacles that your friends and family will be struggling to overcome. Who knows, you might even see a few tears so make sure to bring a camera!

All spectators are welcome. If you are under the age of 16 you must be accompanied by an adult at the event.

We allow you to bring lawn chairs, strollers, video recorders, cameras, and purses/bags. We cannot allow outside food, alcohol or any pets into the event. For more information on what to bring, you can visit the specific event page you are spectating in one-week before the event.

Yes you can. How else are you going to capture how badass your friends and family truly are?

Sorry, for safety and insurance reasons these vehicles will not be allowed into the event.

Please visit our Registration Center to sign up to be a volunteer at The Inferno events.

You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer.

All volunteers will receive free entry to a future The Inferno race of your choice! If you wish to race the same weekend (if available) please note this during the volunteer registration.

Our Volunteer Coordinator will provide instructions on how to get your Volunteer Discount.

We have two volunteer shifts. One is from 6 AM – 1:15 PM and the second shift is from 1 PM - 9:30 PM. We will need you to be present the entire shift to volunteer. After your shift is over, feel free to do some spectating of your own or kick back and relax at the post-race party. There will be food and beverages available for purchase (Please bring cash). All volunteers 21 and older will receive one beer ticket to be redeemed after their shift has been completed.

Yes you can. Each member needs to register to be a volunteer via our Registration Center. You can make requests to volunteer together on event day, though we cannot guarantee we can put an entire group together, and you may have to be split up, depending on need and group size.

In addition to participation in the event itself, you also get an official The Inferno shirt and custom finisher's medal, as well as entry to the post-party. All participants 21 and older get a beer on us to either celebrate or ease your pain with!

Check out our Events Page for details. If you live in the US and an event is not listed in your area, make sure you contact us to bring The Inferno to a city near you! If the fan support is there, The Inferno will be there too!

Unfortunately, if registration has closed it means we have reached our maximum capacity. Due to safety and insurance reasons we cannot allow any more participants.

For most events, registration closes approximately one week prior to the event weekend. However, our events almost always sell out before this date, so it is important to register as early as possible. Plus, the earlier you sign up, the less you pay! Got to love that!

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to process team name changes.

It's up to you! There is no minimum or maximum team size. However, I believe the saying goes, The bigger the better!

Yes, you can continue adding members to your team until registration is sold out. 2-4 weeks after the event, you will receive a $5 refund to members of teams with 6+ people, $10 refunds to members of teams with 11-20 people and $20 to members of teams with more than 20 people. There will be a biggest team award and all members of that team will receive a $25 refund!

All teams that register together will be placed in the same start wave. If team members register late or as an individual and then switch to a team, The Inferno cannot guarantee that he/she will start at the same time as his/her team although all attempts will be made to allow for that to happen.

It's up to you! Team members can choose to run the course at their own pace, or run together and finish as a team. However, we leave this decision at each team member's sole discretion.

The Inferno events are typically $99-189, depending on when you register. The earlier you register, the less you pay. Please visit our Events Page to choose the event you are interested in for more information on specific pricing.

The prices listed on the various Events Page are per person, not per team. But the more people join your team, the more you get refunded after event day.

All information on discounts can be found here.

The Inferno is proud to offer military discounts for current or former members of the United States Military. Simply indicate this during registration by answering the appropriate military questions. There is a $10 military discount, which comes off your registration at checkout.  However, you will be required to provide a military ID for verification on event day. This discount is not available for military spouses or their children at this time.

No. We do not issue refunds, regardless of circumstance, nor do we issue partial refunds, as per company policy and the terms & conditions that are agreed to by each participant during registration.

It is impossible for us to assess each injury on a case by case basis and therefore do not offer refunds when participants are injured and cannot participate. However, your registration fee will allow you access to be a spectator on the day of your event.

Unfortunately, you must register and complete payment before the price break to get the cheaper rate. If you miss it, there is nothing we can do. We recommend not waiting until the last hour to register, in case you run into any problems along the way!

Yes. The Inferno tickets are transferable. Please contact us for transfer directions. Note: A $20 transfer fee will apply and the new participant will be subject to the mandatory insurance fee and any processing fees.

The Inferno is going to test you both physically and mentally and is not to be taken lightly. It's imperative that you buckle down and get serious with your training or you may find yourself on the ground crying come event day!  For more information and our suggestions, click here.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait until event day to view the course. In most cases, the course will not be finalized until a few days before the event. There will be a preview of each course on the specific event page and we will have maps on event day that provide an idea of what the course will look like. However, due to some unforeseeable circumstances we may have to change the course and it may not match the online or event day map.

What is the required swimming skill Unlike our competition, The Inferno will have obstacles that require participants to possess at minimum, basic swimming fundamentals and be skilled to not only tread water but also prepared to swim distances ranging from 50 yards to a 1/4 mile. If you don't possess basic swimming fundamentals we recommend that participants bypass these obstacles as basic swimming skills are essential for safe completion.

Yes, we will have 2 selected stations along the course that you will have access to in addition to the facilities in the registration, staging and post-race party areas.

Yes, we will have 2 selected stations along the course that will have water, bananas and energy snacks that you can have. We will also have all this and selected nutritional snacks at the end of the course.

Yes, if you feel that you can't safely complete an obstacle it is the recommendation of The Inferno that you skip the obstacle. However, because The Inferno is a race, and to be eligible for any post-race awards you must complete all obstacles. Everyone will receive a finishers medal regardless of if they complete each obstacle successfully.

You can skip any obstacle that you do not feel you can safely complete. You should be prepared to swim between 50 yards and a 1/4 mile in VERY cold water over your head. Please see the above question “Can I skip an obstacle” for more information.

If you are an innovative, team-oriented, and flexible contractor with carpentry expertise, we are looking for you! Please contact us for more information.

What to Bring to an Inferno Event

The only thing you need to bring to your event is your confirmation e-mail and some form of identification (license, student ID, ect). Be aware, any shoes that are deemed to be dangerous to other participants by event officials will not be allowed. Shoes that are not allowed include but are not limited to spikes, so please use your best judgment.

Although The Inferno doesn't have any “all mud” obstacles, you are bound to get dirty and yes, possibly even a little muddy, so a fresh change of clothes is recommended, which you can leave in a bag at our bag drop (if available). Although, if you are a true badass, you might just feel like rockin' your event clothes at the post-race party?!

Glasses are not recommended, as they will most likely be broken or lost. We would recommend goggles, but many participants do choose to wear their contacts when doing The Inferno without issue.

Our only requirement is that you do not wear shoes with spikes; but The Inferno does fully support and recommend the use of minimalist shoes.   However, anything with rubber soles will work but make sure they are prepared to last through the toughest 13.1 miles of your life.

You must be 18 and older to participate. However, all children under the age of 10 are allowed free entrance onto the site to spectate. Anyone over 10 will need to purchase a spectator ticket and those under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult above the age of 18.

Absolutely! If fact, it's almost a requirement! Who else is going to help motivate you to get through the toughest 13.1 miles of your life? Children under the age of 16 do not need an ID to enter the event but will need to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

However, if weather conditions make the course unsafe, or affect our medical and safety teams' ability to help participants, this will also be evaluated independently of the weather.

Packet pickup will be available on event day. There will also be pre-packet pickup made available at select races (See event page for specific details). Each participant must collect his/her packet in person in order to provide proper ID and sign a physical waiver.

If you are registered as an individual, you will select your preferred start time during online registration.
